About the Role:

Concept - IT are seeking an experienced SoftwareLicensing Contractor to take ownership of our client's software asset management processes. This is a key role focused on optimising software licensing, driving governance, and ensuring cost-efficiency across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a Software IT Asset Management (ITAM) database and establish a process for ongoing governance and optimisation.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all software licensing across the organisation.
  • Optimise the cost base of software licenses, including those for Microsoft (SPLA, CSP, Azure), Veeam, VMware, Halcyon, MIMIX, and other platforms.
  • Review contracts with suppliers and vendors, ensuring terms align with organisational needs and are commercially favourable.
  • Focus on commercial contracts, ensuring back-to-back terms with client contracts.
  • Develop a framework for effective cost management and optimisation of software licenses.
  • Drive improvements in processes, controls, and data reporting related to software license management.
  • Demonstrate experience in procurement transformation and delivering positive commercial outcomes across various IT sub-categories, particularly in software and licensing.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in software licensing and compliance within an IT managed services environment.
  • Strong commercial focus, with the ability to review and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Experience in managing and optimising software license costs, particularly for major platforms such as Microsoft, Veeam, VMware, and others.
  • Demonstrated success in procurement transformation and achieving cost optimisation.
  • Strong ability to enhance processes and governance in software asset management.
