About the Role:We are actively seeking dedicated and adaptable supply teaching staff to work across SEMH schools in Solihull, helping to shape positive futures for students with complex needs and challenging behaviour. Key Responsibilities:- Deliver engaging, tailored lessons: Adapt and implement lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEMH difficulties, supporting their academic and personal development.
- Promote a positive learning environment: Encourage resilience and personal growth, maintaining high expectations for behaviour and social skills.
- Manage challenging behaviours: Employ effective behaviour management strategies to handle complex and sometimes confrontational situations calmly and professionally.
- Support emotional and mental health needs: Work closely with school support staff and mental health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s development.
- Build relationships: Establish trust and rapport with students, creating a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters confidence and growth.
- Experience in SEMH settings: Previous experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, ideally in specialist settings.
- Strong behaviour management skills: Proven ability to handle challenging behaviour with patience, resilience, and empathy.
- Adaptability and flexibility: Comfort with the supply teaching environment, able to adapt quickly to new settings and meet diverse needs on a day-to-day basis.
- Empathy and commitment: A deep understanding of the unique needs of students with SEMH and a genuine passion for helping them succeed.
