Overview:
Aspire People is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Moderate Learning Disability (MLD) Specialist to join a SEN school with a supportive, nurturing and dynamic team in the thriving Shirley area of Solihull. This role involves working closely with children who have Moderate Learning Disabilities and supporting their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement individualised education programs for children with MLD.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and Senior Leadership Teams to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
* Monitor and report 1:1 progress of students, support with classes and making adjustments to their plans and report to the class teacher/ department lead.
* Provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
* Utilise a variety of resources and sensory techniques to cater to different learning styles and needs.
* Stay updated with current best practices and methodologies in special education.
Requirements:
* Relevant qualifications and experience in special education, specifically working with children with Moderate Learning Disabilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special needs.
* Good presentation - You are a role model for all children on site.
* Flexible throughout EYFS- Upper school settings.
