Classroom Link are working in partnership with a school based in the B93 Solihull area who are looking to appoint an SEN teaching assistants in March and April 2025. The role is full time Monday to Friday term time only on a long term basis with the opportunity to apply for a permanent position.

The school is a SEN primary school for children with autism and SEMH needs with fantastic outdoor space and brilliant facilities. The school has an excellent and supportive senior leadership team.

The main duties within this role will be:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who present with additional needs
  • Engaging children in activities to help increase academic outcomes
  • Liaising with the class teacher around progress made by pupils
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Leading academic interventions with pupils working below age expected levels
  • Acting as a role model for children across the school
  • Following the school's behaviour and reward systems to help engage pupils

The school are looking for people who:

  • Have previously worked in school's or in a childcare setting
  • Have a good understanding of Autism and SEMH needs
  • Can engage pupils within lessons
  • Are able to build relationships with pupils
  • Have a good understanding of the primary school curriculum
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Are team teach trained - desirable not essential
