Seeking a Dedicated and Compassionate SLD & PMLD Teacher!

Are you an experienced educator with a passion for supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

Tradewind are working with a special school that caters for pupils aged 2-19years with SLD and PMLD, some pupils have additional difficulties including sensory impairment, communication difficulties and complex medical conditions. This is a full-time role to start ASAP, 8:45am-3:45pm.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs and abilities of students with PMLD.

Create engaging and accessible learning activities that promote cognitive, social, and physical development.

Utilise specialised instructional strategies and assistive technologies to support communication, mobility, and sensory integration.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, caregivers, and support staff, to ensure holistic care and education for students.

Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace.

Requirements:

QTS or equivalent

Specialisation or certification in teaching students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)

Proven experience working with students with SLD & PMLD in an educational setting.

Strong understanding of PMLD characteristics, communication methods, and sensory needs.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with complex needs.

Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
