Specialist SEND Tutor- Solihull based

At Team Educate we are working alongside an alternative education provision who are looking to recruit staff with experience in working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.

The role is full time Monday to Friday, with an ideal start date in March 2025 until the end of the school year in July. There is also a high chance of continuing employment after the school holidays into the new school year in September. As a specialist tutor, your role will be on a 1:1 basis, however you will be supported throughout the role by senior members of staff and the school’s leadership team. Training will also be provided prior to starting the role.

Duties of a specialist SEND tutor:

- Deliver individual curriculum programmes

- Use BSL/ Makaton/ PECs books to communicate with students

- Record high quality data to evaluate student’s progress

- Lead fine and gross motor sessions to aid physical development

- Follow EHCPs of individual students

Experience Required of a specialist SEND tutor:

- Experience working with children, particularly those with ASD

- Knowledge of special educational practices, principles and behaviour management techniques

- Ability to work effectively with children with complex learning needs

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The Role:

- Position: Specialist Autism Tutor

- Duration: Full Time (Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00) Term time only

- Pay Rate:£85-£100 per day

- Duration: March 2025- July 2025 (with option to extend)
