This business is a technology driven engineering business with talented, experienced well respected HVAC and project engineers. This business is privately owned and located in Birmingham, UK. Their contracting customers are in the UK, Ireland and western Europe. As a result of sustained growth they are now looking for a BMS Manager

Role Overview:

The BMS Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) for industrial and commercial facilities. This role involves leading a team of BMS engineers and technicians, ensuring that all systems are designed to meet client needs, operate efficiently, and integrate the latest technologies. The BMS Manager will also focus on enhancing system reliability, optimizing energy management, and staying ahead of industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Department Leadership:
    • Manage and lead the BMS department, ensuring the team is well-equipped to design, implement, and maintain BMS solutions.
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a team of BMS engineers and technicians.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of BMS projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • BMS Design & Implementation:
    • Oversee the design of advanced BMS solutions tailored to the specific needs of industrial and commercial clients.
    • Ensure that all BMS installations meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.
    • Implement secure remote access solutions to allow for efficient monitoring and control of systems.
  • System Optimization & Innovation:
    • Lead efforts to optimize BMS for energy efficiency, reliability, and performance, incorporating the latest technologies and innovations.
    • Utilize a deep understanding of BMS platforms, such as Trend, Niagara, Carel, Schneider, or similar, to deliver robust control systems.
    • Stay updated on the latest trends in IoT and energy management, and integrate these technologies into the company’s BMS offerings.
  • Client & Project Management:
    • Work closely with clients to understand their specific requirements and ensure that BMS solutions are tailored to meet their needs.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables are met and that client expectations are exceeded.
    • Provide ongoing technical support to clients, ensuring long-term satisfaction and system reliability.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Demonstrate proficiency in BMS software design and implementation, with experience in using platforms such as Trend, Niagara, Carel, Schneider, or similar.
    • Utilize knowledge of HVAC systems, energy management, and relevant industry software to enhance BMS performance.
    • Apply expertise in Office 365 apps and other relevant tools to streamline departmental operations and project management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in BMS roles, with a proven track record of managing BMS design and implementation projects.
    • Extensive experience in leading technical teams and managing complex BMS projects from conception to completion.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in BMS platforms such as Trend, Niagara, Carel, Schneider, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, energy management, and IoT technologies as they apply to BMS.
    • Proficient in Office 365 apps and other relevant industry software.
  • Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a technical team.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time and within budget.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
