General Operative/Production Technician

Location: Alfreton
Salary: Starting at £28,571.40 per annum (50-hour week)

Temp to Perm 

6:00 am - 4:00 pm

Additional Benefits:

  • Overtime: Saturday (1.5x), Sunday (2x)
  • Callouts: £50 per call
  • Opportunity to increase salary to £34,000 within the first year through progression and meeting banding targets

About the Role

Our client in Alfreton is seeking an adaptable, hands-on General Operative who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is a dynamic position that combines technical, mechanical, and warehouse responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-use checks on all equipment (training provided).
  • Proactively identify and report safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, always wearing PPE.
  • Participate in factory meetings and contribute to process improvements.
  • Perform production, fabrication, and warehouse duties as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and complete quality checks as directed.
  • Report any quality issues to the line manager or Factory Manager.
  • Accurately track data using barcodes.
  • Follow quality control processes for all manufactured products.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience with tools such as angle grinders would be useful.
  • Mechanical, technical, or fabrication background advantageous.
  • Forklift truck (FLT) driving experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Adaptable, hardworking, and willing to take on diverse tasks.
  • Resilient, proactive, and a team player who doesn't like to sit still.
