Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are working in partnership with a well established and reputable concrete manufacturer, supporting their search for a Quality Assurance Operative to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. 

Working within the production facility, as a part of a small testing team, you will be responsible for completing standard concrete manufacturing tests and finished product checks. This is a temporary to permanent position, on fixed mornings, with an immediate start available. 

Full training will be provided.

The Job: 

Split between the office and the testing lab, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Testing products using a gauging machine
  • Carrying out various other concrete tests including slump tests, pull testing, aggregate checks, curing and concrete checks 
  • Writing accurate reports including data of findings and feeding these back to the appropriate people / departments 
  • Reading and understanding specifications and basic engineers drawings 
  • Adhering to all site health and safety regulations 

About You: 

With an analytical mind and keen attention to detail, you will have the following: 

  • Experience using testing equipment 
  • Ability to consider details and dimensions with experience reading engineers drawings 
  • Ability to create excel reports 
  • Experience in operating a gauging machine would be highly beneficial 
  • Experience in a concrete lab would be ideal, however not a necessity as full training will be given for this role

Hours: 

Monday to Friday - 48 hours between 06:00am and 4:30pm

Pay: 

£12.02 per hour, overtime rates available
