Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist

Exciting new opportunity with our clients based out of their South West office in Somerset, They are looking to expand their team with the addition of a Senior Technician/Technologist or Technical Architect. They have had the greenlight on numerous projects within the new year with a strong focus on the Residential, Healthcare and Industrial sectors. Looking to speak to candidates with a strong Technical focus and project running experience to join their talented multi disciplinary team

If you have a minimum 5 years of experience within UK residential & Healthcare and have demonstratable experience delivering across the Technical stages with the adaptability to work independently or part of a team, this could be a great opportunity to progress your career. Our clients are looking for a driven individual that will integrate well into their team and bring value and technical knowledge to their projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit planning applications, with a comprehensive understanding of the planning system, including NPPF, Local Plans, and applicable guidelines.
  • Create and manage project timelines and oversee a small team of architects, assistants, and technologists to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Fulfill Designer CDM responsibilities, with a solid understanding of CDM regulations and the BSA Principal Designer role.
  • Participate in site appraisals, surveys, client meetings, and site inspections to support project development and ensure on-site implementation.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment, mentoring and supporting colleagues to foster professional growth and collective learning.
  • Develop and refine design proposals and planning applications, progressing them through to technical specifications, tender documentation, and detailed construction drawings.
  • Proficient in all RIBA work stages, with a particular emphasis on stages 4+.
  • Liase with clients, consultants, contractors, and other construction professionals. Lead presentations, chair meetings, and manage agendas and minutes to ensure clear communication and project alignment.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Senior with experience in the Residential and commercial sectors
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations & construction methods.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit - Essential
  • Demonstratable experience in Large scale projects
  • On site experience with access to own transport.
  • Project running experience - advantageous
  • Proven record in a senior role
