The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Steel Erection Site Supervisor to join our construction team, based at our Hinkley Site.

With a busy order book ahead, we're looking for a driven individual who can immediately contribute by helping us deliver the construction plan, coordinating daily activities with our site team, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Safety and quality are our top priorities, so it is essential to comply with our documented quality and SHE programme requirements, adopt the safest methods of working, and ensure minimal environmental impact.

The position involves an average of 48 hours a week, working a 10 days on / 4 days off shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review pre-planning information and suggest improvements to the Site Manager.
  • Facilitate timely mobilisation of subcontractors and site inductions.
  • Coordinate all site activities, including deliveries, logistics, and crane scheduling.
  • Supervise and mentor subcontractors to ensure timely, quality completion within budget.
  • Ensure that suitable RAMS and lifting plans are in place, and that all operatives are properly inducted.
  • Inspect steelwork and materials for compliance, addressing non-conforming items.
  • Ensure all works meet Quality Inspection & Test Plan (QITP) and technical specifications.
  • Prioritise the health, safety, and well-being of all site personnel, ensuring compliance with safety training and PPE requirements.

What We're Looking For:

  • MUST hold a minimum NVQ level 4
  • Experience in managing structural steelwork erection in construction environments.
  • Required certifications: CSCS Supervisor, SSSTS/SMSTS, CPCS Crane Supervisor, IPAF 3A/3B+.
  • A proven track record of driving productivity improvements and implementing best practices.
  • A commitment to maintaining the safest working conditions for all.
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach and a passion for quality.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate the team while ensuring high standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Meticulous in record keeping and ensuring full contract entitlements.
  • Knowledge of local construction laws and regulatory standards.
