Certain Advantage is hiring for an Environmental Specialist based in Somerset.

The Company

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Specialist with expertise in permitting and regulatory compliance. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the project's environmental standards are met and upheld across all phases.

Key responsibilities include:
* Leading environmental permitting projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
* Preparing Environmental Permit applications for activities and discharges to water, land, and air to support various construction phases.
* Producing and interpreting technical reports.
* Providing expert advice on environmental performance and compliance, working closely with site-based environment teams.
* Assessing activities and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

The Individual
We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* In-depth knowledge of the UK environmental permitting regime, with proven experience managing permit applications.
* Experience working for UK environmental regulators (e.g., EA, NRW, or SEPA) is desirable.
* The ability to analyse scientific reports and investigations related to waste, water, and air permit applications.
* A proven track record in monitoring and enhancing environmental compliance within relevant sectors.
