Junior Project Estimator

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Project Estimator to join our clients growing team based out of Somerton

This is a hands-on role with a responsibility to produce IT Infrastructure tenders for both pre-designed and design & construct projects along with estimating works working in a professional team. Training Provided.

We are looking for someone who is interested in becoming a project manager in the future. Ideal back ground as a project coord in a construction or IT company, someone with qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Maths, IT or has been an apprentice/trainee estimator for another company

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of estimating new projects from inception to submission
  • Setting up estimates, tender packs and applicable trackers.
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders and external Suppliers & Clients
  • Preparing take-offs for IT Data Cabling systems from drawings.
  • Inputting take offs and quotes to relevant estimate formats.
  • Produce bills of quantities, schedules of work and contractors' proposal documents to support bids.
  • Assist in the handing over to the operational delivery team.
  • Develop strong inter-departmental relationships working closely with Contracts Managers, QS's and Design/Engineering department.
  • Complete Job Costing activities with Accounts and Operations team
  • Supporting the Project Team with Commissioning and Handover requirements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Self-motivated to ensure that project deadlines are achieved.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team to manage workload efficiently.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non- technical clients.
  • Qualifications in Mathematics & English (5+ GCSE or above) demonstrating a strong numerical skillset.
  • Experience as an estimator or IT Data Cabling would be advantageous
