Long - Term teachers areworking with a fantastic specialist school located just outside of the historic town of Taunton. Their aim is to support pupils' growth through. They provide a safe and supportive environment, where studentsfeel encouraged by the taff to find the enjoyment out of learning, through creative and outdoor education. In 2019, the school were the winners of the Positive Behaviour Support Award at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards.

Students at the school will have speech and language delay, impairments or disorder, along with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and/ or moderate and severe learning. Your role of teaching Assistant will be a support to both students and tutors, ensuring their learning needs are met with a positive attitude. You must show confidence and be an excellent role model to pupils, in addition to being flexible to follow instructions from peers.

The headteacher is seeking a male applicant due to the needs of the students, they feel more comfortable around males, however we also welcome female teaching assistants, who could be placed in other classrooms.

The hours of work will be 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, term time only. You will be working with pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, which is entry level for GCSE. This is a full time position, where you will begin on a temporary basis, then once you have passed probation, you will progress to a permanent position, employed directly by the school.
