Compensation: £14.54 per hour

Situated just outside Rushden, the home is designed in a modern style, offering a homely yet contemporary setting for its residents. The home provides personal, nursing, and dementia care for up to 48 residents.

The Senior Care Assistant role provides a rewarding opportunity to support residents in a compassionate and dedicated care setting. Focused on maintaining residents’ independence, dignity, and wellbeing, this role involves supervising a team, managing daily care routines, and promoting best practices in care.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Senior Care Assistant, responsibilities include:

  • Leading care support efforts to provide daily living assistance with a focus on dignity, respect, and independence
  • Conducting medication rounds accurately and ensuring daily charts are completed to a high standard
  • Leading shifts, supporting team members, and maintaining high standards of care
  • Promoting best practices in care, addressing concerns, and participating in team evaluations as directed by the Home Manager

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ Level 3)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a residential or nursing care setting
  • Understanding of Person-Centred Care Planning
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles and abuse prevention
  • Proximity to the location (within a 30-minute commute)

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • At least two years’ experience in a senior care role within a nursing home setting
  • Experience in dementia care
  • NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or higher
  • Knowledge of the National Care Standards Act 2000
  • Experience conducting effective, person-centred evaluations and team management
