Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all mechanical systems and installations for a large-scale residential project.
- Ensure that mechanical works are carried out in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth coordination and delivery of mechanical systems.
- Manage and supervise mechanical site operations, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and drainage systems.
- Review and approve mechanical designs and technical submittals, ensuring they align with project requirements and budgets.
- Monitor project progress, tracking key milestones and ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or delays related to mechanical works.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, risk assessments, and quality control checks.
- Mentor and supervise mechanical engineers and technicians on-site, ensuring high standards of work and safety.
- Liaise with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers to address any technical concerns or modifications.
- Ensure quality assurance procedures are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Mechanical Manager in residential construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly HVAC, plumbing, and drainage within residential developments.
- Strong understanding of building regulations and health and safety standards.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience in managing subcontractors and coordinating with various teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or building services.
- Good knowledge of construction management software and tools.
- Experience with residential projects in London, particularly in Peckham or similar areas, is a plus.
