Are you the right candidate for the role?

  • Experience at management level and worked in education.
  • Diploma in careers and guidance
  • Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
  • Confident and good communication skills
  • IT literate - SharePoint, Teams and Word packages
  • Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults Level 2 (or willing to obtain)
  • Equality & Diversity Level 2 (or willing to obtain)
  • Careers or IAG qualification - desirable
  • Experience in working with Gatsby and Career related legislation

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Careers & Placements Crew - Oversee the careers and industry placement team, ensuring they thrive and deliver top-notch support to students.
  • Drive the Tutorial Curriculum - Collaborate on the centralised tutorial curriculum, aligning it with Gatsby benchmarks to maximise student success.
  • Prep, Progress & Inspire - Run sessions that prep students for placements, track career progress, and provide enriching experiences along the way.
  • Expand Employer Connections - Build a robust database and pipeline of employer connections to create diverse placement opportunities.
  • Manage Placement Records - Keep the infrastructure tight, accurately recording industry placements for smooth tracking.
  • Prioritise Health & Safety - Ensure risk assessments, parental consent, and other necessary checks meet high standards every time.
  • Stay Updated & Share Insights - Keep up with national guidance and local developments around careers, sharing key updates with internal teams.
  • Placement Success from Start to Finish - Coordinate each student's placement journey, ensuring quality and meeting minimum requirements.
  • Boost College Engagement - Actively promote the College to employers, industry groups, schools, and the community, building strong partnerships with relevant agencies.
  • Achieve Careers Strategy Goals - Work closely with senior leaders to hit Gatsby benchmarks and drive Careers Strategy KPIs to success.
