We have an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding Lead to join our client's established nursery in Croydon. If you have a level 3 Childcare Qualification and 2 + years of Early Years experience, you could be perfect for this role!

Nursery Safeguarding LeadCroydon, CR2 7DU

  • Full time, 36 hours per week over 4 days (between Monday - Friday)

The Role

In this rewarding role, you will take full responsibility for ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the Nursery’s care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the nursery complies with all safeguarding legal and statutory requirements
  • Provide ongoing support, advice, and supervision on safeguarding matters
  • Ensure all staff fully implement safeguarding policies and track training records
  • Develop and deliver safeguarding training to raise awareness across the team
  • Keep policies and procedures up to date and perform annual reviews
  • Lead on interventions for children’s welfare and safety, and liaise with external agencies
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records on all safeguarding cases
  • Ensure positive communication with parents regarding their child's welfare

The Ideal Candidate:

You will be an experienced and compassionate leader who is knowledgeable about safeguarding in an Early Years setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for ensuring the safety of children.

  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification and 2+ years of Early Years’ experience
  • Recent professional development in safeguarding
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills
  • Experience working with external agencies and handling sensitive data
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures
  • Excellent record-keeping and interpersonal skills
