Nursery Safeguarding LeadCroydon, CR2 7DU

Full time, 36 hours per week over 4 days (between Monday - Friday)
Permanent position
£27,500 - £30,000 depending on experience

The Role

In this rewarding role, you will take full responsibility for ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the Nursery’s care.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the nursery complies with all safeguarding legal and statutory requirements
Provide ongoing support, advice, and supervision on safeguarding matters
Ensure all staff fully implement safeguarding policies and track training records
Develop and deliver safeguarding training to raise awareness across the team
Keep policies and procedures up to date and perform annual reviews
Lead on interventions for children’s welfare and safety, and liaise with external agencies
Maintain accurate and confidential records on all safeguarding cases
Ensure positive communication with parents regarding their child's welfare

The Ideal Candidate:

You will be an experienced and compassionate leader who is knowledgeable about safeguarding in an Early Years setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for ensuring the safety of children.

Level 3 Childcare Qualification and 2+ years of Early Years’ experience
Recent professional development in safeguarding
Strong leadership and staff management skills
Experience working with external agencies and handling sensitive data
Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures
Excellent record-keeping and interpersonal skills
