Croydon NHS Trust are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the community Stroke team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio.The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.

  • To assess the functional, rehabilitation and vocational needs of clients referred to the Community Stroke Team. This includes working in a variety of locations within the community, including the work place.
  • To apply a high level of understanding of the effect of stroke and provide training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the patients' physical and social environment.
  • To provide evidence based, goal directed physical stroke rehabilitation to address vocational needs.
  • To manage sensitive issues relating to employment and associated risks in relation to clients' return to work
  • To share records and information with patients, carers and MDT and store securely in an accessible location.
  • To generate handouts/information booklets/exercise programmes for supplying to patients, carers and MDT using electronic/IT and software.
  • To utilise an established knowledge of the full range of disability equipment and adaptations available to the patient group

To Be Successful.

  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Knowledge of a range of OT models and demonstrate being up to date with trends and developments in OT Stroke rehab.
  • HCPC Registration
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification
