Location: Croydon, South London Full-Time: 5 days per week Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, plus parent evenings Salary: Teacher salaries are determined by the national pay scales Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Contract Type: Temporary with the opportunity to go permanent School Type: An independent special school in Croydon, London, catering to students aged 11 to 18 with various Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. SEN Needs: ADHD, ASD, SEMH Role Overview: As an SEN Humanities Teacher for secondary pupils (Year 7 to Year 11), you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Humanities lessons, including History, Geography, and Religious Studies, at Functional Skills and GCSE levels. Your lessons will be tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other related challenges.
You will adapt teaching methods and materials to suit individual learning styles while fostering a supportive classroom environment. Encouraging students' curiosity, participation, and progress in Humanities will be a key focus.
