1-1 Learning Support Assistant

£100-£110 per day!!

We are seeking a committed individual to join our team as a 1-1 Learning Support Assistant within a challenging primary school in Croydon.

Role Overview: As a 1-1 Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with a student who exhibits challenging behaviour, specifically Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a full-time position within a primary school setting, providing essential support to ensure the student's academic and social success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a student with ADHD and ASD, addressing their individual needs and learning style.
  • Assist the student in understanding and completing tasks, both academically and socially.
  • Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor the student's progress and communicate with parents/guardians and relevant professionals as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships with the student, promoting their self-esteem and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ADHD and ASD, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of strategies and interventions for managing challenging behaviour.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs support are advantageous but not essential.
