Finance Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to manage and maintain the financial activities of our organisation. This role involves working closely with the Operations Manager and other team members to ensure accurate financial records and effective management of funds.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain accurate records of financial activities, ensuring proper allocation of income and expenditure across funding sources.
  • Collaborate with the Office Manager and Operations Manager to maintain bank account statements, verify, allocate, and post transactions on SAGE 50.
  • Process received invoices, including sessional workers' fees and staff expense claims.
  • Issue invoices and monitor their payment status.
  • Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Work with payroll providers to verify salary calculations and execute payments.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and assist in the preparation of end-of-year accounts in liaison with accountants and auditors.
  • Prepare budgets in consultation with the Operations Manager and/or Trustees and provide quarterly actual vs. budget reports.
  • Keep records of monthly giving and ensure all financial information is recorded promptly with necessary documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in financial management or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in using financial software, particularly SAGE 50.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
