Construction Warehouse Manager
Location: South Ockendon
Salary £35k to £40k
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations for a construction company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, and leading a team to maintain optimal performance. The Warehouse Manager will play a crucial role in streamlining processes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and improving overall warehouse efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing goods.
- Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to company policies.
- Develop and implement warehouse strategies to optimize storage, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conducting regular stock checks and audits.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Collaborate with suppliers, logistics teams, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement and monitor performance metrics to improve warehouse efficiency.
- Train and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage warehouse budgets, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track shipments, stock levels, and workflow.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse management software and inventory control systems.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Forklift certification (preferred but not essential).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Relevant certifications in warehouse management or logistics.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in a warehouse management role.
