General Operative

Overview:

CNC Recruitment is seeking enthusiastics General Operatives to join our prestigious client in South Petherton, Somerset [wood supplier/oak timber manufacturer].

Job Types: Temp to perm, Permanent

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Working hours : Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm 

Responsibilities:

• Picking/Selection of customer orders from stock
• Quality Checking and packing of product from the sawing production line.
• Packing, banding, and presenting of customers’ orders, preparing orders for further processes or despatch.
• Restocking of shelves from stock produced on the production line.
• Unloading incoming trucks
• Placement of bulk stock
• Loading of customers collecting orders

Skills and Experience Required:

• Experience in timber handling / picking / carpentry / construction.
• Experience in the yard or warehousing environment.
• Forklift license (preferred, not essential – can provide training for side loader)
• Good Team Player, with a positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Focussed yet flexible approach – solution finder.
• Keen attention to detail – to pick up on special order requirements and analysing products for quality and accuracy.
• Good understanding of maths.
• Ability to perform well in a time-pressured environment.
• You must be physically fit as of some heavy lifting duties.
