Quality Manager

The Opportunity:
Are you a seasoned Quality Manager who has experienced of working within a busy engineering or manufacturing environment? If you also offer a good knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental regulations, then all the better! This Quality Managerrole is varied, interesting, hands on and integral to the ongoing success of this successful Somerset engineering company. With a focus on Quality, you will take responsibility for the management of a team of Quality Engineers, Inspectors, Packing, Despatch and Warehouse Operators, the EHS Officer and Laboratory Technicians within a busy metalshop environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • To ensure that the correct controls and documentations are in place to ensure product quality, integrity and traceability: Quality Planning, Quality documentation and storage, on-time delivery, training for inspection methods and techniques, visual conformance guides, inspection equipment and product handling, ALL in accordance with the requirements of ISO9001
  • To oversee the Laboratory and ensure compliance to procedures/process in Bi-metal and Plating as well as Small Turbo part cleanliness.
  • Alongside the H&S Supervisor, you will ensure that the EHS management systems are administered, maintained and developed. To promote a positive Quality and EHS culture, and be fully involved in all aspects of H&S including H&S inspections, risk assessments, COSHH, accident investigations etc. and to report any concerns or shortfalls as appropriate.
Required of You:
  • Previous experience in a Quality management role is essential, ideally within a manufacturing and/or engineering environment, from which you will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of quality management systems
  • Previous experience of successfully leading a team from which you will have gained the ability to prioritise and organise team tasks effectively, and to motivate and develop team members
  • Drive, commitment and leadership to ensure that the highest standards of quality performance are continuously maintained for our customers
  • Confident and effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced numeracy and analytical skills are required, with the ability to interpret data analysis results for decision making. You will hold a high level of competency in the use of spreadsheets, databases and Word applications.
  • Excellent personal organisation and time management skills
Personal Attributes:
Applicants should ideally hold a degree in an engineering related discipline, or a lower level qualification which is supported with relevant engineering experience.

Associated Benefits:
26 days holiday per annum (allocated to fixed and flexible dates) plus 8 statutory bank holidays.

Working Hours: Day shift hours (07.00 to 16.30 Monday to Wednesday, 07.00 to 16.00 Thursday)
