The Role...


We are currently on the recruiting for a Machine Shop Technician working at our South Queensferry site. The primary focus of this role will be to ensure that the safety and production procedures within the machine shop are carried out in accordance with the relevant risk assessments and work instructions.


A day in the life of a Machine Shop Technician

  • Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
  • Operate in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance System and help to improve/develop processes.
  • Solve production problems and continuously improve in all areas of operation.
  • Structure and prioritise work in a logical and orderly manner to achieve business & personal objectives.
  • Work within Health, Safety & Environmental procedures
  • Ensures the accurate use of the Time & Attendance systems
  • Respond professionally and innovatively to satisfy the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring that quality standards are never conceded
  • Is aware, and actively reduces the incident rate, of Non-Conforming errors within the team.
  • Creates a Clean-as-you-go policy and maintains W.I.P. and stock areas
  • Ensure plant and equipment is maintained safely and fit for purpose, reporting and resolving defects.
  • Willingness to be trained in other production areas.

About You...

  • Previous experience in machine shop processes is an advantage but not essential.
  • Results focused
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Good communication skills
  • Being proactive and autonomous when required
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to deadlines and targets
  • Willingness to learn
  • Flexible and willing to work additional hours where reasonably required

Salary:£29,468-£30,604 (Inclusive of shift allowance) - First 3 months probation will be at a lower rate of (£28,771-£29,907)
