The role will be based full time in Edinburgh and will involve travel around the UK and abroad. ROLE DESCRIPTION
Depending on level of experience, the role will deliver and possibly lead quantitative technical safety projects nationally and internationally. These projects cover a wide range of facilities and plant, processes and operations, for example:
On/offshore oil and gas exploration, production, decommissioning.
Distilleries
Renewable/alternative energy
The role may involve travel to UK and world-wide locations to meet project requirements, it would therefore, be an advantage (but not a requirement) for applicants to hold a valid passport and driving licence.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide technical safety support to senior colleagues and clients, including some or all of:
Consequence modelling (gas dispersion, heat radiation, jet fire/explosion modelling) using industry-standard software and techniques.
Technical Safety Studies (QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA, TRIA, BRA, OBRA etc.) using industry-standard software and techniques.
Prepare technical proposals and reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
Project/client management as appropriate to experience.
KEY EXPERIENCE
3 years plus relevant technical safety studies experience including use of modelling software.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent
Software Skills:
Highly computer literate.
Numeracy and skills in quantitative analysis
Experience with analytical software tools.
