This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a business consulting and services business in South Tyneside. The role of the Commercial Manager will report direct into the Managing Director and will be fundamental in helping grow and retain the customer base by leading a team of customer service professionals, marketing and business development. Along with being responsible for the overall management of the customer lifecycle (onboarding throughout to retention of certification), the Commercial Manager will help drive sales and marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and new business to help continue the organisation’s growth.

- Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing commercial strategies to achieve growth within new business and ensure customers are retained
- Market Research: Understanding market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform commercial decisions.
- Pricing and Product Development: Working with their Compliance and Product teams to contributing to pricing strategies and product development based on market analysis
- Contract Negotiation: Overseeing the negotiation and management of contracts with suppliers, customers, and partners.
- Sales and Marketing: Leading a team to ensure marketing strategy is delivered and sales targets are met.
- Business Development: Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Customer Relationship Management: Leading the customer service division to ensure that their customers gain best in service support, helping to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Financial Management: Monitoring budgets, expenses, and revenue to ensure profitability.
- Team Leadership: Leading and motivating the whole customer and commercial team to achieve performance goals.
- Project Management: Overseeing commercial aspects of projects, including planning, implementation, and completion.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience leading or managing a team
- Experience in sales, marketing, and/or contract management.
- Able to work across multiple systems such as Microsoft Applications and CRM systems
- An understanding of the importance of a Quality Management System and processes
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proven track record of positively impacting growth within an SME professional services organisation
