Teaching Assistant

I am supporting a school in South Shields who is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in their Additional Resource Base. The Resource Base is for pupils identified as having a primary need in Social, Emotional and Mental Health. There is an EYS/KS1 class and a KS2 class. Each class will have an experienced Teacher who will work as part of a team with the Teaching Assistants. You must have experience of working with children experiencing Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.

I am looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • holds a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning;
  • has experience of undertaking 1:1 support with identified pupils;
  • has experience of working with children in small groups;
  • has experience of working with young people with special educational needs, particularly Social, Emotional and Mental Health;
  • is a committed team player;
  • has the ability to engage and inspire pupils;
  • has high expectations.

Hours: 37 hours per week (term time only)Required for January 2025

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required for this role. This role has the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
