The OpportunityNigel Wright is supporting this industrial company in their search for a Cyber Security Analyst. In this new role, you will be exposed to the full range of cyber security activities, including incident management, security tooling configuration and undertaking risk assessments, and play a key part in maintaining and improving the business's cyber security posture.Hybrid working arrangements are available.Unfortunately our client is unable to sponsor visas, so applicants must possess Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK.The RoleIn this broad role you will:
  • Assist in the development, implementation and review of security policies, procedures, and protocols;
  • Implement, assess and review IT security controls across systems;
  • Conduct routine security assessments, vulnerability scans, and assurance reviews to detect and address potential security weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and threats on servers and end point devices;
  • Configure security tools including SIEM, anti-virus and other security solutions;
  • Monitor and analyse security alerts, reports and systems to identify any potential security issues;
  • Work with third party suppliers to reach support resolutions;
  • Undertake regular checks and testing of disaster recovery environment and report any issues;
  • Support the investigation and resolution of security incidents and breaches;
  • Participate in security audits and compliance assessments;
  • Provide input into routine reports regarding information security risks and concerns;
  • Assist in the development, delivery and reporting of security training programs for colleagues;
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, technologies and industry best practice in cyber security.
The PersonThis role is suited for someone looking to develop their career in cyber security and applications are welcomed from graduates within this field along with those with up to 2 years' experience in a cyber security role. Specifically you will possess:
  • A basic knowledge of endpoint security technologies (e.g., antivirus).
  • An understanding of vulnerability management tools and processes.
  • A familiarity with SIEM platforms and security alert triage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities
