‘good ’ SEND school with ‘outstanding’ teaching and learning in South Shields is looking to appoint a creative Primary Teacher to join their fun and friendly team. 
The headteacher would like to hear from candidates that have a real passion for teaching pupils with SEND - Mainstream Primary Teachers and ECT's would be strongly considered. 
The staff at the school pride themselves on being friendly and supportive – making the school a good place to gain SEND experience!


The main duties will include:

  • Supporting the pupils in their education through the national curriculum and individualised learning plans 
  • Teaching and managing the behaviour of up to 8 pupils 
  • Working with a teaching assistant to implement interventions
  • Planning and delivering creative and innovative lessons
  • Using formative and summative assessment
  • Planning and assessing phonics following the school’s chosen program
  • Promoting independence with life skills
  • Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be available for work Monday to Friday
  • Hold a degree and QTS
  • ECT’s are welcome to apply
  • Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
  • A full checkable work history
