  • The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting Terminal Operatives on behalf of a client based in South ShieldsTerminal Operatives are required to work in the container terminal andsupport all aspects related to the safe and efficient movement of goodsand handling of containers.Essential Experience

    • Previous experience of driving and operating plant andequipment.
    • Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
    • Numeracy, interpersonal and literacy skills.
    • Knowledge of health and safety at work.
    • High levels of alertness and concentration.
    • Good co-ordination and spatial awareness.
    • Able to work alone as well as part of a team.
    • Flexible approach to work and able to work overtime as required.
    • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.Receive Containers into storage and ensure all containers are booked inaccurately in accordance with company and customer procedures.Dispatch containers from storage in accordance with company and customerprocedures.Participate in the administration functions of the Container division when required.Operate plant and equipment associated with container handling, includingcounterbalance forklifts, tug master units, reach stackers and gantry crane.Ensure all plant and equipment is stored / parked securely in the appropriatelocation.To effectively communicate with Customers, Supervisors, Operatives and otheremployees as required.Maintain general housekeeping and hygiene standards.Essential Qualifications
    • Basic level of education, including English and Mathematics.
    • Valid certificates in counterbalance forklifts, tug masters, reachstackers and gantry cranes.
