Facilities AssistantLocation: SouthallSalary: £12.44 per hour

As a Facilities Assistant, you will support the Premises Manager in maintaining the school's operations. This role includes maintenance, safety inspections, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Cleaning:

  • Organize room setups for lettings and assist with cleaning duties.
  • Perform minor repairs (e.g., toilet seats, door handles, locks).
  • Address reactive tasks (e.g., leaks, making areas safe).
  • Install minor fittings (e.g., whiteboards, shelves).
  • Conduct minor decorating (e.g., touch-ups on disturbed surfaces).

Safety and Inspection:

  • Check fuel/energy/water meters.
  • Inspect plant control panels and report issues.
  • Manage salt/chemical levels in water treatment units.
  • Test fire alarms and fire doors, ensuring safety compliance.
  • Inspect fire extinguishers and signage, keeping all doors operational.

Administrative Duties:

  • Conduct regular inspections, logging defects and reporting outstanding tasks.
  • Maintain building logs, stock records, and consumables.
  • Escort contractors and follow room access procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Basic maintenance and repair knowledge.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
