Our client are an established expanding freight forwarding agent specializing in container transport and are committed to delivering reliable and efficient services to our clients. We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Container Driver to join our team on a self-employed basis.

Job Title:Class 1 Container Driver (Self-Employed)Location: UB2Salary: Daily rate £190 DOE per day/min 10 hours plus overtime when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport containers to and from ports (Felixstowe), warehouses, and other locations.
  • Airline Collections from Heathrow
  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time and in line with company standards.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
  • Experience in container driving is preferred, but not essential.
  • Possession of port cards and relevant training is a plus, but not mandatory—training can be provided.
  • Good knowledge of UK road networks and port operations.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with driving regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills.
