Finance Manager required to join a market leading company based in Southall, London. £55,000 to £65,000 + benefitsReporting directly to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day running of small finance team. The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in helping growing the business and to help sustain the future growth plans. The Finance Manager will be required to prepare, analyse and report on management accounting and payroll information, provide the board with timely, accurate and relevant financial information, contribute to the organisation's financial and payroll management procedures ensuring that they are effective, efficient and compliant with appropriate financial statutory and regulatory requirements. The Finance Managers duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Produce monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts including cashflow
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Lead contact and support for accounting audits.
  • Responsible for monthly accruals, bank reconciliations, VAT returns etc.
  • Ensure appropriate access to documentation as required by the Managing Director and Board.
  • Assisting with the annual audit preparations, preparation of Annual Report including financial statements and notes and Companies House filings
  • In liaison with external auditors, assisting with tax matters including VAT and corporation tax
  • Resolving accounting issues and discrepancies as they arise
  • Assisting with project planning, research and analysis as required
  • Preparing detailed departmental cost breakdown to establish profit and loss by department and product as required.
  • Responsible for import/export paperwork.
  • Negotiation of key supplier contracts
  • Oversight and management of invoicing and credit control carried out by accounts staff.
  • Preparing employee payroll information.
  • Completing statutory paperwork for HMRC, pension etc in association with HR department.
  • Preparing payroll

The successful Finance Manager will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience financial management within a manufacturing company.
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant financial tools with an in-depth understanding of current accounting principles.
  • Proficient with spreadsheet and accounting software programs
  • Preferably have experience with Sage online and Sage desktop based software
  • Experience in preparing financial reports and analyses to board level.
  • Experience in preparing detailed department and product costs.
  • Experience in managing staff.
  • Excellent understanding of business and financial issues
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Ability to analyse and summarise complex information.
  • Management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively and sensitively as part of a team to achieve success
  • Proactive manner, ability to use own initiative, and willingness to accept responsibility
  • Capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a varied workload
  • Proactive in seeking guidance when planning or prioritising complex or conflicting tasks
  • Process-focused and methodical manner, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within the organisation
