Our client are a dynamic and growing established freight forwarding agent based in Southall, dedicated to delivering high-quality services to their clients and are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant with previous experience, fluent French and knowledge of Sage to join the finance team.
Job Title:Accounts Assistant - French Speaker
Location:Southall, UK
Salary:Up to £30,000 per annum/NEG (Dependent on Experience)
Hours:Full-time, 08:30am-17:30pm 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid break)
Overtime:Paid after 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations using Sage, including data entry, invoicing, and reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of financial reports, including monthly management accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Handle bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory reporting.
- Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar accounts assistant role.
- Proficiency with Sage accounting software is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and processing.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, French/English Langues and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
