Job Title: Project Director - 500 Million + Data Centre

About the Role:

This contractor is seeking experienced Construction Project Director to lead the construction of a state-of-the-art 500 million data centre. This senior role demands exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and expertise in managing large-scale, complex construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee all phases of the project, from planning and design through to execution and completion, ensuring that the data centre is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Provide overall direction and leadership across the entire lifecycle of the project, ensuring alignment with client expectations, organisational goals, and project timelines.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and oversee strategic plans to facilitate seamless project execution.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Manage the project budget, meeting financial targets and engaging in proactive cost control, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Team Management: Lead a multidisciplinary team that includes project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and ensuring accountability at all levels.
  • Risk Management: Identify, mitigate, and manage risks to ensure the project's success, maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and local authorities, ensuring transparent communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes to ensure that all deliverables meet technical and operational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 15 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on large-scale data centres or other mission-critical facilities.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering projects valued at over 200 million, with full P&L responsibility.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and engaging multiple stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction regulations, compliance standards, and health and safety practices.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive and strategic approach.
