Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Art Teacher to join our vibrant and dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art education, creativity, and the ability to inspire students to develop their artistic skills and appreciation. As an Art Teacher at Dormers Well High School, you will be responsible for teaching a range of art disciplines across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to explore and express their creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality and engaging Art lessons across all Key Stages
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and critical thinking through a variety of mediums and techniques
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
  • Develop and deliver a stimulating curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities, including art exhibitions, workshops, and after-school clubs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the teaching and learning experience within the department

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Art or a related subject
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or be in the process of completing a teacher training program
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities
  • A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for the arts and a commitment to inspiring students
  • Experience teaching at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 is desirable but not essential
