Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee engineering activities for a designated section of the HS2 project.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with technical specifications, project plans, and relevant standards.
  • Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and technical teams to resolve issues and drive the progress of works.
  • Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and construction phase plans.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with HS2 guidelines and health & safety regulations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and site staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections, surveys, and quality checks to ensure engineering excellence.
  • Coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials in line with project timelines.
  • Report on progress to senior management and attend project meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a Section Engineer or Site Engineer role, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or rail projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, design, and engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage site teams effectively.
  • Proficient in using engineering software (AutoCAD, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
  • CSCS card holder
  • Driving license and acces to a car
