Supply Star Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a Secondary School who require a Philosophy Teacher to join their school in a supply basis for the reminader of the academic year.

To be considered for this role you must have experience delivering Philosophy lessons within UK settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Philosophy lessons in line with exam board specifications.
    • Employ diverse teaching methods to engage students, promoting active participation and critical discussion.
    • Set and assess coursework, essays, and other assignments, providing constructive feedback to support student growth.
  • Student Engagement and Support:

    • Cultivate an inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to express ideas, ask questions, and challenge assumptions.
    • Encourage students to develop independent research skills, supporting their success in Philosophy GCSE or A-Level exams.
    • Provide individual support and guidance to help students with differing levels of ability succeed in their studies.
  • Professional Development and Collaboration:

    • Stay updated on best practices, research, and developments in Philosophy education and curriculum.
    • Work collaboratively with the Humanities Department and contribute to cross-curricular projects, enrichment programs, and academic clubs.
    • Participate in department and whole-school meetings, sharing resources and best practices with colleagues.
