Financial Controller

Southampton

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

This an exciting, newly created role, responsible for undertaking the day-to-day lead in all aspects of the Company’s financial and administrative operations, whilst undertaking analysis to ensure efficient use of financial investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of all ledger accounting and the preparation of monthly management accounts and the financial reports to management team and external investors.
  • Production of payment reports and the operational management and overseeing of company bank accounts.
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and all subsequent VAT-related matters and reporting.
  • Responsible for leading on cashflow projections and treasury management.
  • Responsible for managing the ongoing Research and Development project cost tracking working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to align.
  • The day-to-day running of annual audit and the production of statutory accounts, with input from the external accountants.

About You

  • Full qualification ACA, ACCA or CIMA is highly desirable.
  • Industry experience within pharmaceuticals, biotech or life sciences is essential.
  • Well-rounded financial control experience within an SME.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to partner and challenge cross-functionally.
