Financial Accountant at The Niche Partnership in Southampton

We are on the hunt for a Financial Accountant to join a thriving charity based near Southampton. As Financial Accountant, you will drive the change and improvement of key processes, ensuring the finances of the organisation are well-managed and efficient.Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:

Offering strategic financial guidance and support throughout the organisation
Leading the financial accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely completion of processes (daily, monthly, annual)
Balance sheet reconciliations
Ensuring Fixed Asset Registers are reconciled to the finance system
Correctly allocating Restricted Funds as received
Processing the payroll journals for employing entities
Making sure VAT returns are completed in a timely and accurate manner
Conducting analysis and reporting to drive informed decision-making
Overseeing the continuous improvement of finance processes

What you will need:

To be a qualified accountant – ACCA / CIMA / ACA
Previous experience in a similar role, such as Financial Accountant / Finance Manager / Management Accountant / Assistant Accountant
A strong understanding of Excel (including Vlookups and pivot tables)
Experience in the charity sector is desirable but not essential
