With a strong presence in the industry, they are dedicated to driving efficiency and excellence in supply chain management, transport, and logistics. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a talented Management Accountant to join the finance team.

Role Overview:The Management Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing key financial statements, managing financial data, and providing insights to support decision-making across the business. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of the company in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Analyze financial performance, providing key insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Manage monthly accruals and prepayments, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with key departments to deliver accurate financial projections.
  • Assist with financial reporting to external stakeholders, including investors and auditors, as required.
  • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
  • Monitor and manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments and receipts.
  • Assist with the preparation and management of the company's tax filings, including VAT and other relevant taxes.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, while continuously improving financial processes and controls.
  • Provide support on ad-hoc financial analysis and project-based work as required.
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) and other operational metrics.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified or part-qualified with relevant experience in a similar finance role.
  • Experience in producing management accounts, financial reporting, and analysis, preferably within the logistics or transport industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Oracle, SAP, or similar systems is an advantage).
  • Excellent Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive, results-driven attitude.
