Our client, an growing firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking a Personal Tax Semi-Senior/Senior to join their team in Southampton.

This is a personal tax position, dealing with compliance matters and providing advice to a mixed portfolio of clients with private and business interests.

  • Dealing with a portfolio of Private Client tax clients and ensuring compliance with HMRC and in-house deadlines
  • Preparing and processing tax returns and P11Ds from information provided
  • Calculation and advice of liabilities, together with due dates of payment to client
  • Assisting with client queries and providing ad hoc advice where requested
  • Dealing with correspondence, telephone calls and arranging and attending meetings with clients and potential clients
  • Assisting partners and staff members with technical queries and providing assistance to junior members of the team where appropriate
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports in relation to income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax
  • Dealing with HMRC correspondence, telephone calls and enquiries
  • General support to the tax team as required

You will ideally have at least 18 months to 2 years UK personal tax experience within practice and study support will be offered for professional qualifications such as ATT and/or CTA.

A good understanding of partnership tax, trust tax, inheritance tax, foreign tax and employee share schemes would also be an advantage, along with a knowledge of accounting systems such as IRIS, CCH, Xero and QuickBooks.
