Venture Recruitment Partners is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for an SME in the Southampton area.
The role requires a fully qualified accountant with a background in Audit and experience in financial reporting and audit processes, along with a focus on month-end and year-end processes.
Key responsibilities include preparing management accounts, coordinating cash flow, and managing the annual financial statements and audits.
The position offers a competitive salary along with a benefits package that includes a 15% bonus scheme and a generous pension contribution.
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude, with prior experience of at least 3-5 years in a similar role.

Venture Recruitment Partners are delighted to be exclusively supporting a SME in the Southampton area with the recruitment of their Senior Financial Accountant.

You’ll be joining a small, collaborative, finance team in a business which offers a good benefits package and has a people focused culture.

This role will be responsible for assisting the day-to-day operation of the finance department, including preparation of management accounts, coordination of cash flow, meeting debt related deadlines and dealing with the statutory audit.

Responsibilities will be broad and include:

Management of month end process
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Review and analysis of month end reporting pack including variance analysis with relevant commentary
Production of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
Preparation of annual financial statements and managements of year end process and audit relationships
Liaising with and reporting to key stakeholders including shareholders, lenders, and customer
Development of processes within the department to contribute to the success of the organisation
Financial analysis to support decision-making within the company
Second stage payroll review.

About you:

We’re looking for a fully qualified accountant (a background in Audit is advantageous) with experience of financial reporting requirements and audit process gained in industry.

Good experience of the financial month end and year end processes is also key.

Candidates should be ambitious, inquisitive, offer good attention to detail andhave a desire to learn.

A strong team player and self-starter with excellent communication skills is essential!
