Their team of over 250 people, including over 40 partners, over 75 qualified attorneys and solicitors, is based in London, Munich and Southampton.

They are now looking for Accounts Assistant to join their Southampton office.

Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase ledger invoices - ensuring that the correct authorisation procedure has been followed, entering invoice details onto the ledger to the appropriate nominal ledger code, department and office or matter, preparing invoices for payment, filing and archiving.
  • Processing agents ledger invoices - entering invoice details onto the ledger to the appropriate client matter, preparing invoices for payment, filing and archiving.
  • Processing of staff expenses - ensuring that the correct authorisation procedure has been followed, entering expense details onto the ledger, preparing expenses for payment, filing and archiving.
  • Entering new suppliers into the finance system
  • Examining supplier statements and investigating differences
  • Investigating queries from suppliers and fee earners as required
  • Providing holiday and sickness cover for the other Accounts Assistants in the department
  • Such other duties may be required from time to time

Candidate Profile

  • Have prior experience of working within a finance role [Essential]
  • Have prior experience of processing purchase ledger invoices [Preferred]
  • Have prior experience of working with Aderant / CMS [Preferred]
  • Have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Exhibit good inter-personal skills to be able to work collaboratively with other members of the finance team, and with fee earners and paralegals from various technical areas
  • Demonstrate good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
