This Accounts Assistant position gives you the freedom to manage day-to-day finance tasks while being part of a small, friendly charity. You’ll play a key role in keeping the finances running smoothly, from handling budgets to chasing invoices, all while working in a team that values collaboration over hierarchy. If you like variety, autonomy, and making a difference, this could be the perfect fit.Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Keeping a close eye on cash flow and ensuring the bank feed is up to date
  • Preparing and reviewing profit and loss reports
  • Handling manual journals and payroll journals, making sure everything is recorded accurately
  • Monitoring budgets to help the organisation stay on track
  • Analysing receivables and suppliers, keeping things in check and spotting potential issues early
  • Chasing outstanding invoices
  • Making sure financial records are accurate and up to date, working with the wider team when needed
What you will need:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Finance Manager / Accountant / Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant
  • To be qualified by experience QBE or qualified in AAT / ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • To be someone who enjoys working independently with autonomy
  • A solid grasp of technical accounting, able to apply your knowledge practically
  • A desire to work in a varied role with full ownership, rather than a narrow focus
  • An appreciation for the value of working in a charity and a small team
