A well-established logistics business is seeking a Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a 1-year fixed-term contract. The role offers exposure to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with involvement in various aspects of finance operations, including sales invoicing, reconciliations, and credit control.

What will the Accounts Assistant role involve?

  • Raising Sales Invoices.
  • Credit Control: Chase overdue debtors and set up new client accounts.
  • Perform balance sheet and VAT reconciliations.
  • Purchase Ledger: Assist with invoice posting.

Suitable Candidate for the Accounts Assistant vacancy:

  • Essential Competencies:

    • Extensive experience in Sales and Purchase Ledger.

    • Strong understanding of accounting principles.

    • Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to challenge and question processes professionally.

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

    • Highly organised with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge & Skills:

    • Finance qualification (degree level or equivalent).

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level, no requirement for Pivot Tables or VLOOKUP).
