Assistant Accountant

An opportunity for a part qualified Assistant Accountant to join a successful Fintech business in Southampton has arisen to cover maternity. They are recruiting a minimum 6 month contract with an extremely high chance of the role becoming permanent. You will need to be, immediately available, studying AAT, CIMA OR ACCA

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly bank account reconciliationstion
• Create and post journals
• Petty cash payments, transactions and reconciliations
• Expense claim payments
• Month end control account reconciliations
• Monthly transaction review of the balance sheet and P&L
• Transaction monitoring
• Ensure all financial operations processes are documented
• Financial analyses

Skills and Experience needed

Essential

• CIMA / ACCA / AAT qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a finance team
• Self-disciplined and organised
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confident user of Excel, Word and Outlook
• Be able to prioritise tasks effectively and work well under pressure
• Capable of working independently, being proactive and a good relationship builder
• Good analytical ability and commercial acumen
