Working closely with the wider Business Services team, the Business Services Senior will deliver a dependable outsourced managementaccounting service, providing clients with the support they need to enhance business performance.

Description

  • Completing monthly Management Accounts for clients on various systems, including Excel
  • Reviewing annual bookkeeping, identifying any issues and making suggestions on better practice
  • Completing new client bookkeeping and Xero set ups
  • Supporting clients with bookkeeping and teaching them how to correct items
  • Completing ad hoc bookkeeping tasks
  • Reviewing bookkeeping work completed by juniors
  • Creating cashflow forecasts weekly, monthly and annually
  • Reviewing VAT returns
  • Reconciling clients trial balances and correcting any issues
  • Submitting and reconciling CIS returns
  • Having in-depth VAT knowledge of different schemes and partial exemption
  • Providing coaching and support to AP/BSS juniors, ensuring that they can complete their assignments to agreed standards
  • Committing to personal and continuous professional development, ensuring that skills remain current and relevant for the requirements of the role.
  • Liaising and communicating with clients as agreed by the Client Manager or BSS Manager
  • Working to the deadlines and budgets set by the BSS Manager and being proactive in dealing with scenarios where delays or overruns are identified
  • Reporting to the Business Services Manager
  • Working closely with all members of the Business Services Team and Client Managers across the firm
  • Providing support to more junior colleagues
  • Maintaining direct contact with clients

Profile

Essential:

  • A minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with Xero, using it effectively and confidently
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills with both clients and colleagues
  • An ability to make effective decisions about the appropriate channel of communication
  • Strong and effective organisation skills and a methodical approach to their work
  • Effective prioritisation skills, adapting your approach to reach multiple deadlines
  • An ability to work independently without close supervision
